Shabbat 7/21/2018

Shabbat Shalom!

We are in a very unique and historically tragic time on the Jewish calendar. Beginning on sunset this Shabbat, July 21st, is Tisha B’Av, the 9th of Av, where Jews remember the destruction of both of their temples and is traditionally a time when the Jewish people have seen great peril. It is a time of intense prayer and in many cases fasting, as our people call out to God for protection and deliverance and also a time for us to remember that throughout our history when we have turned our back on God and His word there are severe consequences.

This Shabbat, July 21st, we will be continuing in our study in Romans as we look at chapter 15. What are you passionate about? In this powerful section we get a glimpse of Shaul’s passion as he partners with a group of people he hasn’t met before to see the good news of the crucified Messiah transform the world! Are we passionate about this taking place? He was absolutely convinced of this and so should we be convinced!

FOLLOWING THE SERVICE WE WILL BE HAVING A POTLUCK ONEG, SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR THE FELLOWSHIP!

A reminder, next Shabbat, July 28th, Paul Wilbur will be with us during our Shabbat service! The service starts at 10:30am so invite your friends and family. I suggest you get there early for your seats! We have been having some wonderful times in the presence of The Lord as we have worshipped, danced and experienced His joy together. WE would ask that you continue to pray for Or Chaim and our services as we desire nothing more than TO BE IN HIS PRESENCE, SERVING, LOVING HIM, AND CELEBRATING ONE ANOTHER!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!
