Shabbat 4/22/2023

Shabbat Shalom!

I was reading in Joshua 22 this morning that the tribes of Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh built an altar of witness at the Jordan River. A ‘rumor’ spreads among the other tribes of Israel that had gathered to their lands on the west side of the river that those 'other guys’ had built an altar in opposition to the God of Israel! An immediate mobilization of the armies was ordered and preparations for war were begun. A delegation of priests was sent to the 2 1/2 ‘rebellious’ tribes to find out what gives. The 2 1/2 tribes were able to explain that it was an altar to remind future generations that they would always be faithful to the God of Israel and also their commitment to their brothers on the other side of the river! All were happy and war was averted! What a valuable lesson for us today, when we hear a rumor or a story that causes consternation or anger, check it out before you jump to the next conclusion and get into a ‘war’ that was not necessary!

What a busy and exciting time we are living in! Doesn’t it seem that spiritual activity has accelerated and everything seems to be more intense than even a few months ago? I will be sharing a message this Shabbat entitled A HOUSE BUILT HIS WAY, laying out what I believe the father is doing to awaken His bride to our responsibility in these dangerous days before us. This will be an important message so let's all come on out to The Dwelling Place and worship together and hear His word for us today! Our address is:16800 W.9th Ave, Golden, 80401and we meet at 11am. We have a potluck Oneg following the service so bring a dish to share and stay for fellowship! This Sunday April 23rd, we will be joining others with the Jewish community to observe Holocaust Remembrance Day at Babi Yar Memorial Park, 10451 E.Yale Ave, Denver at 2pm. One of our own congregants, a survivor of the death camps, will be one of the speakers. All are invited to this special event. On Thursday May 4th between 9:30am and 12:30pm, we will be meeting for the National Day of Prayer on the west steps of the State Capitol. Bring your shofar and your flags and lets join with the others from around the city to pray for this nation!

ALSO REMEMBER THAT OR CHAIM CONGREGATION WILL BE PARTICIPATING WITH WELL OVER A MILLION PEOPLE  AROUND THE WORLD WHO WILL BE PRAYING FOR THE SALVATION OF ISRAEL BETWEEN MAY 7TH AND MAY 28TH!
