Shabbat January 7, 2017

Shabbat Shalom And Happy New Year! Wow, hard to believe but Or Chaim is celebrating it’s one year anniversary! We were commissioned on January 8th of last year, and had our first service the following week. So many incredible things have happened and He has shown His faithfulness to all of us! Millie and I had a great week at IHOP Kansas City, as we were blessed to take part in a global leadership summit, and join with their annual OneThing event with people from all over the world! Great teaching and worship, and celebrating God’s goodness with about 20,000 mostly young people. I may be in my 60’s, but my heart still feels like it’s 30!

I sensed that the Father spoke to me clearly two words that I want to live out, and desire us as a community to live out over this next season (and the rest of our lives, hopefully!): PURITY and POWER. In other words, live in right standing with The Lord, being the righteousness of God in the Messiah, and moving in the power and authority we already have IN HIM! As we live this way, we will see people come into a knowledge of who Yeshua really is, because they will see His light in us. Also, I believe we will see miracles and things that we once thought were impossible, come into being! I see many of us, and those in our families, walking into destinies and callings that we were beginning to believe would never happen! Bondages and chains of addiction and abuse will be broken, and many will be healed of sickness and disease that have lingered for years! Am I hopeful? I am very hopeful, because I know through His Word, and through my own experience, that He is more than able to do what He said He would do!

Don’t miss this Shabbat, January 7th, at 10:30am, as I will be sharing a timely word on how to identify and birth God’s kingdom purposes, already written in books in heaven, to be manifest here on Earth. What does God say from the “courtroom of heaven”, about how He sees me and what He wants me to accomplish? We will be exploring how to engage Him in this process. Join us as we worship God in freedom, and enjoy a fun and lively Torah service. Fun and lively? absolutely! He never intended that our Shabbat services were to be boring and religious! WE WILL BE HAVING A POTLUCK ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH AND ENJOY THE FELLOWSHIP!

If you are planning on going on our Bless Israel outreach in February, WE WILL BE HAVING A SHORT OUTREACH MEETING DURING THE ONEG. We will plan to have a conference call with Jeff Shelton, who is facilitating our tour, so you can ask questions you might have. We will also pray in to our time in Israel!

Look forward to seeing all of you on Shabbat! Mark your calendars for Jan 28th..Paul Wilbur will be ministering and sharing his music in concert at the 10:30 am and 6:30pm!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat Shalom December 31, 2016

Shalom Mishpacha!

Millie and I pray that you and your families are enjoying this Chanukah season! There have been wonderful gatherings at homes, as the lights of this season were lit. Great fellowship has been taking place as Messianic believers from all over the area, as well as congregations from the entire front range get together to celebrate Yeshua together as the light of the world! What a great way to bring 2016 to an appropriate conclusion.

Millie and I are in Kansas City right now participating in a global leadership summit, as part of the annual Onething conference hosted by IHOP.  Wonderful teaching and great networking and fellowship! God is moving all over the world, and we are hearing great testimonies of salvation and healing in nations that are "closed" to the gospel! We will not be there for the service this weekend, but want to encourage all of you not to miss this upcoming Shabbat! Bart Ford, elder at Lighthouse Messianic Fellowship, will be bringing the message this week. God has put an important and timely message on his heart to share with us. THERE WILL BE A POTLUCK ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A FAVORITE DISH TO SHARE! These are important times of fellowship, don't miss out!

Please keep Millie and I in your prayer as we will be driving back on Sunday, following the conference. We look forward to seeing all of you in 2017, as we sense that Father is getting ready to break through in our midst. As we pursue Him in our study of the word, engage with Him in our prayer life and worship, we will see His kingdom purposes fulfilled in our personal lives, families, and in our ministries.

We love you all so much!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

New Beginnings - New Creativity

First of all...Millie and I want to thank you so much for coming out for the inaugural launch of Or Chaim!  What a blessing it was to have you come support us and cheer us on.  It was so awesome to experience the presence of God with all of you.  Know that you have truly touched our hearts.  We hope your hearts we filled as well!

Oneg Organization, Set up, and Clean up.  This can be a team effort or a very vigorous person . Every Shabbat after service we will have Oneg unless we announce otherwise.  Oneg will be potluck every week.  Millie and I desire to build a family community and this is one of the ways we do it in Jewish tradition.  So come on and let's fellowship with one another.

Another meaningful congregational family event is our Havdalah once a month.  Havdalah is the closing of the Shabbat and we gather at a home hosted by one of our mishpocha (family).  We again potluck, fellowship and have a time of closing the Shabbat, worship and ministering to one another.  The host/hostess each month will pick and provide a main dish and we all bring the sides and desserts.  One of our favorites has been a soup bar "yum".  This month on Saturday, January 23 at 4:30 pm we will be going out to Mary and Tom Westendorf's "The Farm".  Please rsvp with Mary at mweste7777@msn.com and she can let you know what to bring and how to get there.  Shhhhh we will be blessing Tom Westendorf with prayer and affirmations for his birthday.  They have asked that no gifts be given but rather a blessing, prayer, scripture, etc.

This coming Shabbat I will be sharing a message on The Favor of God.  I want to live every day in His Favor...don't you?  The Parasha will be B'Shallach out of Exodus 13:17 through 17:16. Shari will be sharing the Torah portion again this week.  If you are interested in being a part of the Parasha sharing or Hebrew Reading please talk with Shari. This is another area we can use help.

If you desire to participate in the Worship Arts with you talents, you can speak with Lynne McDowell wyld4hymn@gmail.com and she will help you get started.

Well...that's it for this week!  As you can see we can use someone who knows how to create fancy news updates and also a website manager.  We are pretty simple with this sort of thing!

Have a blessed week!  Feel free to email this to folks who you think might be interested.
