Shabbat Yom Kippur 2020 & THE RETURN

L’Shana Tova and Chag Sameach!

This is an amazing time of the year! The High Holidays between Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur, the 10 days of awe and what I believe to be open heavens that are so significant in God’s kingdom calendar. We entered into this appointed time last Friday evening with a wonderful and impactful night of blowing Shofarot signaling new things and announcing the Presence of The Lord as we worshipped the King! We joined with Gateway On Mount Zion for this service and it was so powerful!

This Shabbat, September 26th, Or Chaim will not be having their normal morning service, but will be joining with and connecting to The Return, a national and global event being broadcast from the Nation’s Capital, Washington D.C. You are all invited to our Lookout Mountain sanctuary between 7am-7pm for a time of national repentance, prayer and celebration marking 40 days before the elections on November 3rd. The Lord has put it on my heart (Stewart) to attend the event, so pray for me as I fly out on Friday with my son Brian and return Sunday morning. Our leadership, along with Gateway On Mount Zion, will be coming together as we simulcast this important event from the Sanctuary! Come and stay for the whole event or just come for as long as you can. Feel free to bring your lunch and water or drink to eat in the beautiful outdoor patio area.

On Sunday September 27th at 6pm we will enter into the Holiest day of he year, Yom KippurWE WILL BE HAVING OUR YOM KIPPUR KOL NIDRE SERVICE ON THE MOUNTAIN, ALL ARE WELCOME! This is a special time of personal and corporate repentance, breaking of worldly vows and honoring Yeshua (Jesus) as our perfect atonement. This is a solemn and beautiful gathering as we prepare to enter into the Fast. On Monday September 28th at 6pm, we will gather together to close out Yom Kippur and break the fast with a meal together! We will be gathering at the home of Patricia DeLeon, 10578 Ouray Street, Commerce City, 80022This is always a wonderful and special time of fellowship and thanksgiving as we read the Book of Jonah and join in a meal together. Please bring either a main dish, a side or a salad or dessert!  All are welcome!

As you can see, this is a busy time of the year with all kinds of special days. And we aren’t through yet, because Succoth is just around the corner! At this point we are planning on having joint Erev Succoth together with Congregation Roeh Israel at their Shul, on Friday evening October 2nd. We will send more information about Succoth in the next week. We are planning on having our Shabbat morning service at the Westendorf’s farm on October 3rd! These are not just services to observe Biblical events, but special loading times of meeting with our Heavenly Father and being refreshed by Him. They are appointed times that God Himself has designated to meet with His “Called Out Ones”, so that we can hear His heart and be prepared for the upcoming season. Please join with us during these days and just as importantly, be faithful in meeting with The King in your own homes with your families as we live these extraordinary days!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom,

Stewart and Millie

Feast of Trumpets and upcoming Events!

ADONAI SPOKE TO MOSES SAYING: “SPEAK TO BNEI-YISRAEL, SAYING: IN THE SEVENTH MONTH, ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE MONTH, YOU ARE TO HAVE A SHABBAT REST, A MEMORIAL OF BLOWING (SHOFAROT), A HOLY CONVOCATION. YOU ARE TO DO NO REGULAR WORK, AND YOU ARE TO PRESENT AN OFFERING MADE BY FIRE TO THE ADONAI.”

Chag Sameach!

This Weekend we enter into the Fall Feasts with a special service on Friday September 18th at 6:30pm to celebrate Y0M TERUAH or Day of Blowing! This appointed time is the Biblical Feast of Trumpets and is also know by many as traditional Rosh Hashanah the head of the New year! There is a lot of history here. We will be joining together with Gateway On Mount Zion to welcome these 10 DAYS OF AWE where we will blow the shofar, announcing coronation of the King (Yeshua!) and enter a special time of intimacy with God and open heavens! As we enter into the year 5781 in the decade of “The Mouth” (Hebrew letter PEH), we will boldly proclaim that the God of creation will soon return to set up His Throne in the earth! All are invited and we encourage you to bring your Shofar and worship with us. This will be a joyous celebration with great fellowship complete with apples and honey and special Challah as we look forward to a sweet New Year!

WE WILL NOT HAVE OUR REGULAR SHABBAT MORNING SERVICE ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH. Instead, We will be continuing the celebration of The Feast Of Trumpets with a Holy Convocation at 3pm at PINE VALLEY OPEN SPACE, 30400 CHRYSTAL LAKE RD., PINE, CO. 80470. We will be joining with others in the Messianic community for a picnic, fellowship, praise, blowing the shofar, hiking etc. Come on out and enjoy with us! Bring your own picnic lunch and a sweet to share!

As we enter into the Days of Awe leading up to Yom Kippur, Millie and I want to encourage you to diligently pray and spend time in His presence, asking Him to show areas that need to change (T’Shuva), and to re-consecrate so as to walk in the fullness of The Lord!

On Shabbat, September 26th, we will be gathering for a special event on the Mountain and simulcast THE RETURNNATIONAL AND GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER AND REPENTANCE, from the sanctuary. The event is from 7am-7pm MST, and we are working out the details on how we will engage with this important event.

On Sunday September 27th at 6:30pm, we will have our KOL NIDRE YOM KIPPUR SERVICE. This is a special service as we repent corporately from all sins and vows and commemorate our awesome atonement by the blood of Yeshua! All are invited for this appointed time! We are working on some exciting things for Succoth, which begins on Friday evening October 2nd. Stay tuned! How does a Shabbat service and campout sound At the WESTENDORF’s Farm? See Tom and Mary to sign up!

As you can see, this is a busy and exciting season! In addition to these upcoming events we are still meeting at the Capitol in Denver on Mondays at 6pm. These have been powerful times of prayer, scripture proclamation and worship as we declare who God is in this city and pray for His Shalom in our nation!

Shalom and Blessings!

Shabbat 9/12/2020

Shabbat Shalom!
I know, you’re all getting tired of hearing this amazing news of this week, it went from the mid-90s on Monday to 6 inches of snow (at our house) on Tuesday! Well, after all, this is 2020 in Colorado and if we’ve learned anything, we have learned that this is a year that the surprises just keep on coming! I also see a prophetic picture: we had been choking in heat and smoke from wild fires for weeks, and then a cleansing wind brings much needed moisture that washes away the staleness and brings a whole new atmosphere. In this year of “suddenlies”, let me put a challenge out to you, believe that God can change that impossibility in your life because He majors in miracles!

Today as I write this I am reminded of the events of 19 years ago when terrorists invaded our country and as horrible as the event was, as many lives were lost, as painful it was, this country pulled together no matter what state, religion, color, or socioeconomic background one was from. Law enforcement, fire departments, first responders, military, mayors, and yes even a republican president were honored and appreciated. Why 19 years later when the terrorist pandemic hits does this country not respond in the same way? Instead, the opposite! Are we the body of Messiah being all we can be?

This Shabbat, September 12th, I will be returning to the theme of God’s Covenant purposes for us as seen in the tribes of Israel. When Jacob (Israel) prophesies over his 12 sons, these are words for us to embrace and and ask God to redeem in our lives! We have been having wonderful times of worship and open heavens in our services, come and enjoy with us!

On Friday, September 18th at 6:30pm, we will be celebrating Yom Teruah, The Feast of Trumpets along with Gateway On Mount Zion for a very special time to bring in the New Year 5781. This Feast of The Lord, also known as Rosh HaShana, ushers us into the 10 Days of Awe Culminating with Yom Kippur. A special time of visitation and expectation of the coming Kingdom of Yeshua’s reign on earth. THERE WILL BE NO SHABBAT MORNING SERVICE SEPTEMBER 19th! However on the 19th we will join others for a Holy Convocation at Pine Valley Open Space 30400 Crystal Lake Rd, Pine CO 80470 at 3pm for picnic, fellowship, praise, blowing the shofar hiking, etc. We will also be having an Erev Yom Kippur service on Sunday evening, September 27th.

This new season and the upcoming year 5781 will be probably the most significant time of our lives. God has put us here “for such a time as this” and we all have a part to play in the coming events. It is a time that will require us to exercise great faith and boldness and perseverance. Keep close to The Father, Shema (hear) what He is saying and walk in Shalom! See you this Shabbat! We are praying Psalm 91 over you!

Shabbat 9/5/2020

Shabbat Shalom!

A couple of days of fresh air, mountain peaks, beautiful weather, smaller quaint mountain towns and no news it was quite refreshing for our souls…we got home and decided to catch up on what was happening in the world! Unlike what the mainstream media would want me to believe, I believe God has all things under control! There has been a massive shift that has taken place over the last 8-9 months, a quickening of events that has awakened the ‘Elect’ to a greater level of trust in His purposes and also greater hunger to know His ways of righteousness. Yes, there is a virus that has ravished nations and a global economic shutdown that has decimated businesses and eliminated jobs. This has caused the faithful to press into His Word and be reminded of ‘end times’ prophesy to help keep our bearings, not lose heart and be bolder in our witness to others. This Shabbat, September 5th, during our morning service, Brian Sanders will be sharing about “THE RETURN”, an event that I believe can be a turning point for this nation that will be happening at the end of this month. We are in a spiritual war where abdication or surrender is not an option, but as the ‘Sons of Issachar’, we need to know how to interpret the signs and times so that we know what to do!

On Friday September 18th at 6:30pm, we will celebrate Yom Teruah (Rosh HaShana) and enter into the 10 Days of Awe leading up to Yom Kippur. We are looking forward to an awesome combined service with Gateway On Mount Zion, where we will sound the shofar in expectation of His Presence and His triumphant return! As we enter into year 5781, We will hear (Shema) what God is saying and prepare our hearts and lives for the new season ahead of us. This service, as all of our services, are open to everyone and we encourage you to invite others to hear about these “Feasts of The Lord” and understand that they are for today! On Saturday afternoon Sept 19th after Shabbat Service there will be a Holy Convocation in Pine with food and shofar blowing hiking etc (see photo below)

We will also be having special services for Yom Kippur and Succoth that we will be sharing about. There is no better way to take stock of our lives and keep our focus on Kingdom business during this 'year unlike any other year', than to celebrate these appointed times and worship His greatness as a community! Millie and I pray that you have a joyous and fun Labor Day holiday and are excited about walking into this upcoming season together with you!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat 8/29/2020

Shabbat Shalom!
We are in the month of Elul. Traditionally, a time of preparing our hearts for the Days of Awe, the 10 days between Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur where we focus on intimacy and abiding with The King. We hear the sound of the Shofar as the King is in the field, and many utilize this season for intensive prayer, repentance and fasting. I do sense that God is moving in a big way. Monday while we were praying at the Capitol, a lady I had never met from another church told me that just that morning The Lord spoke to her to come to the Capitol at 6pm! The words to her were “Let God arise”, and as she arrived at the Capitol, that very song was being played as we were worshipping on the steps! This is not coincidence or random but Father awakening His body to take action and to be bold in proclaiming the Good news and His Shalom in our communities! Come out and join us every Monday evenings at 6pm.

This Shabbat, August 29th, we will be gathering ‘on the mountain’ to worship Yeshua and encourage one another. I will be sharing a message about “Crossing Over”, as we further explore our covenant relationship with God and how we live in it today. We will be celebrating The Lord’s Table during the service so lets prepare our hearts as we proclaim our union with Him! We will be doing this in an appropriate and sanitized way if you are concerned.

The Fall Feasts are swiftly approaching! Erev Yom Teruah (Rosh HaShana) begins Friday evening, September 18th, and we will be having a special service at 6:30pm! We will also be meeting for our normal Shabbat Service on the morning of the19th. Our services are open to all, so invite your neighbors and friends to hear the meaning of these special ‘Mo’adim’ (appointed times), and enter into the new year of 5781 with the Mishpacha! We will be sending out more information for the rest of the holidays in the next week.

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat 8/22/2020

Shabbat Shalom Mispacha!

Family…That is in fact what we are. Not because of our natural birth parents, but because of a COVENANTAL RELATIONSHIP that we have been grafted into through the blood of Yeshua (Jesus) which connects me way back to the promises of Abraham! COVENANT… A word we hear and may have a vague understanding of but in many ways don’t enjoy it’s benefits because it has lost all meaning in this day of lawlessness (Torah-lessness). This Shabbat, August 22nd, I will be sharing a message UNLOCKING OUR DESTINY FOR US AND OUR FAMILY where we will explore the nature and some of the characteristics of covenant. While preparing for this message I was taken aback by how far we have wandered from the Biblical foundations that promise if we walk in them there are wonderful promises of blessing and abundance! Simon Obert will be leading worship! It will be powerful.

Following the service at 3:30pm, our friend Jeremy who has the heart to reach the Jewish community with good news will be meeting at 1700 N. Sheridan Bl., 80212 (Sloans Lake) for an outreach. This is one of the older Jewish neighborhoods in the city. Come on out as there will be music and an opportunity for Messianic dance so if you are available, all are welcome!  The times we are living in require our response to be bold in our witness!

On Sunday August 23rd, the Colorado Messianic Women's Fellowship will have their quarterly meeting at Cushing Park. The address is 700 W. Dartmouth Ave. Englewood 80110, and will be from 1-4pm. Ladies, come on out and get to know other Messianic ladies in the community, worship together and hear an inspiring word from Carole Urbas! Bring your own lunch and drink. Also, all are invited to join us for prayer at the State Capitol on Mondays at 6pm. These have been powerful times of prayer, proclamation and worship as we gather to pray for our city and nation as well as unity within the body of Messiah! Folks from other churches and congregations have been joining us on this assignment. God is moving!! Let’s reach our city by changing the spiritual atmosphere!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Paul Wilbur This Shabbat 8/15/2020

Shabbat Shalom!
There is a “Wind” (Ruach) blowing over our land. The Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) of God is awakening the Bride to “come out” from the world system always wanting to conform our thoughts and behavior to accept the status quo and be afraid and outraged, and yet stay silent. The Ruach is also saying “come back” to His ways, His word, His love and to live with a passion that yearns for His Kingdom. We all have a part to play in God’s kingdom purposes so press in to “Shema” what He is saying to you and your family in this season and be bold to walk in it!

This Shabbat, August 15th at 10:30am we are honored to welcome Paul Wilbur to Or Chaim Congregation. He has been a pioneer of Messianic worship and a Prophetic voice to the movement for many years. Paul has been a blessing to many of us and we count him as a good friend and part of our OC family! The service is open to all and we encourage you to arrive early to get your seating. Being a larger event, we will have more people amongst us. This will require extra diligence on our part to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Masks will be required coming in and moving about the facility but may be removed once seated and you are socially distanced. The downstairs will be available for overflow. Children are welcome to stay in the service or the nursery under the supervision of their parents. Paul will also be ministering on Saturday evening at Gateway On Mt. Zion at 6:30pm and at their Sunday morning service. This is always a special time and I sense especially because of all that has transpired over the months, that there is going to be a fresh release of revelation and power this weekend!
We will also be blessing Aaron and Earlene Rich and sending them out from us at our service. They have served faithfully as deacons and elders in our family for several years and they have been called to go into full time ministry. We will lay hands on them and send them out with joy in our hearts and yet a tinge of sadness as they have been dear friends and faithful servants all these years!

Upcoming Events: The Colorado Messianic Women’s Fellowship will be having their quarterly gathering on Sunday August 23rd from 1-4pm, at the Amphitheater in the southeast corner of Cushing Park. The address is 700 W. Dartmouth Ave. Englewood 80110. The special guest speaker will be Carole Urbas, so ladies, you don’t want to miss this! Also, we feel the Lord has given us a prayer assignment at the State Capitol on Mondays at 6pm. This has been a powerful time of proclamation, prayer, worship and dance as we are called to change the atmosphere in our region, so come on out and join us!

Shabbat 8/8/2020

Shabbat Shalom!

One of my favorite Proverbs is “TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING …” (Prov.3:5), and if ever there was a time to embrace such wisdom, it is now! We have been talking about DEVELOPING A WARRING FAITH , where it will require an absolute, unwavering trust (faith) in order to stand and walk in victory in these dangerous days. There is an awakening in the “Ecclesia” of God, that compels us to rid our hearts and mindsets of hindrances, sins and ‘stinkin thinkin’ that keeps us from advancing into our destiny and inheritance. We need to be positioned in such a way that the Spirit of Yeshua is free to live and flow in us and through us to restore righteousness and justice in our families, communities and nation. This Shabbat, August 8th, we will look at what the Word of God has to say about re-connecting and developing a warring faith.

Paul Wilbur will be with us on August 15th! His unique and anointed Messianic worship and prophetic gifting has blessed us so much over the years! He will be with us during the morning service at 10:30am, and he will also be ministering that evening at 6pm. For those of you who just can’t get enough, he will also be at Gateway On Mt. Zion Church on Sunday August 16th at 10am! We will be taking a love offering for Paul and his ministry at our service.

Father has given me an assignment. As I have shared over the past weeks, with all the “peaceful protests” (not really!) in the last few months here in Denver there has been much damage and desecration at the State Capitol. The Lord said, “what are YOU going to do?” I felt I was to go to the Capitol on Mondays at 6pmand pray, proclaim the Lordship of Yeshua and declare righteousness and justice in this region and this nation! The invitation is extended to everyone in Or Chaim, and anyone who is concerned about what is happening in this city! We have had awesome times of prayer and good conversations with people who come to observe, so we hope you can join us. We need to remember that as the Body of Messiah, we DO have spiritual and governmental authority to proclaim heaven’s reality here on earth!

Shabbat Aug 1, 2020

Shabbat Shalom! There is a portion of scripture that I keep on coming back to in these days: In Daniel 7:25 it says “… and will continually HARASS the Saints of the Most High”, and I believe it is referring to an ugly, anti-Messiah spirit in the world today that is wearing down and laying siege to so many followers of Yeshua. People who are trusting God in every way are seeing their finances wither away, their businesses being threatened, and even families and best friends are being divided by mask/no mask requirements. If I observe things from a strictly natural or earthly perspective, it would be incredibly depressing and even hopeless, but I choose to see things from a Biblical world-view through the lens of faith and truth because it is based on His covenantal purposes which will not be thwarted! It requires us to daily (actually hourly!) choose to  “keep seeking the things above, where Messiah is … focus your mind on things above, not on things on the earth!” Keeping our eyes fixed on Him the One who was and is and is to come and is the author and finisher of our faith! This is not denial or naivety but a lifestyle we are called to live! I choose to believe that Father is using this “crisis” to refine His Bride, to re-focus us on His Kingdom purposes, and to prepare us for an End Days outpouring of incredible things, both miraculous and terrifying, at the same time! This Shabbat, August 1st, I will be continuing my series on God’s Times with a further look at DEVELOPING WARRING FAITH:REDEEMING TIME AND RE-CONNECTING. I am excited about this message and believe it will be incredibly important, will bring hope and be very applicable to our lives. At this point, we are not able to re-start our Oneg but want to encourage you to hang with each other after the service, bring a picnic lunch and gather outside around the picnic tables! Weather permitting, it is an awesome place to enjoy the surroundings, catch up with one another and still maintain your social distancing! Let’s continue to show love to one another by observing the requirements that we have been putting out: stay home if sick or have fever (watch on live-stream!); wear masks when arriving and leaving. Once inside extend love to one another by respecting each other’s personal space. We have provided enough room for social distancing.
Remember, Paul Wilbur will be with us on the weekend of August 15th! He will be with us on that Shabbat morning and will be at Gateway on Mount Zion on Saturday night at 6:30 pm and Sunday, August 16th at 10 am! We love when Paul comes, not just because he is such an incredible worshipper and Psalmist, but also because of the love he carries and the prophetic mantle he wears! Invite your friends and neighbors to this special time, and especially your Jewish friends to this amazing time on the mountain.Be encouraged In Him! Let’s bless him with an amazing love offering since we are one of his first visits since COVID-19. Shalom and Blessing,

Shabbat July 25, 2020

Shabbat Shalom!

As many of you, I have watched for too many weeks the almost absolute breakdown of civility and order in our nation. It has led me to my knees and I guess that is a good thing! I love this country even with its imperfections, have served it in uniform and would do it again if this old body would let it, and I am one of its biggest apologist! God sent Millie and I out from Israel to Denver almost 12 years ago and He has given me a love for this city. There is a Biblical mandate to pray for the city we are living in: “ALSO SEEK THE SHALOM OF THE CITY WHERE I TOOK YOU AS CAPTIVES IN EXILE, AND PRAY TO ADONAI FOR IT - FOR IN ITS SHALOM WILL YOU HAVE SHALOM.” (JEREMIAH 29:7). As I was praying for this city the other day about the most recent insanity, complaining to Father about the evil that is overtaking this city, He broke through my whining and spoke to me, “What are YOU going to do?” I knew the answer right away: I got in my car and drove downtown and prayed at the capitol for HIS Shalom to rule and reign in this city! I saw a place that has been overtaken by filth, plastered with horrific graffiti and boarded up broken windows and has become a homeless encampment for people devoid of direction. We have the answer and His name is Yeshua!

So, what does this have to do with us at Or Chaim? I am going to go back to the streets as we used to do. Join me on Monday evenings for the rest of summer and we want to pray for His Shalom and bless this city and nation that is being cursed from the Statehouse! I will be meeting on the west side of the capitol building at 6pm. This is not about confrontation or debate or provocation. There is no agenda but to pray and if the Lord would lead us to pray for folks, so be it. I will be bringing some snacks to hand out and plan on prayer walking through the homeless encampment across the street from the capitol. Come on out and let’s make a difference in the Spiritual atmosphere!

The Presence of The Lord has been powerful in our midst! Last Shabbat we welcomed Ted Pearce to lead us in worship and Father brought us to a place of deep intercession and groaning for our nation. This Shabbat, July 25th, we are looking forward to a Spirit-led meeting with the King of the whole world and are excited about what He will impart into us! Again we want to remind you of the Jeffco requirements for our meeting: If you are sick or have a fever, please stay home; masks are required in public places, so wear them when you arrive on the mountain! If you are able to maintain social distancing once in the sanctuary, you may remove face coverings; please refrain from hugging and close contact unless you wear your mask or are a family member! Most importantly, show love to each other and be respectful of each other! I DO NOT want to control anybody’s behavior, please be wise and self-regulate your own behavior.

We are looking forward to seeing you on Shabbat and serving the Lord on this ordained day from the Mountain!

Ted Pearce on Shabbat 7/18/2020

Shabbat Shalom!

Millie and I are excited to be back this Shabbat after a short getaway! I was able to watch the service last week and our elders Aaron and.Russ, Tammi leafing worship and Kent Brown teaching did a wonderful job honoring the Shabbat! This week, July 18th, I will be sharing a message that Father has put on my heart exploring times and months. Have you considered the Biblical meanings and purposes for each month? It amazes me how God still has purposes for every time and season, but we need discernment to unlock the keys and enjoy the blessings!

ALSO, WE ARE BLESSED TO WELCOME TED PEARCE, INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN SINGER/SONGWRITER TO THE MOUNTAIN TO LEAD OUR WORSHIP! YOU KNOW MUCH OF HIS MUSIC AND HE HAS SUCH A HEART FOR ISRAEL AND ALSO A DESIRE TO REACH THE NON-BELIEVER WITH THE TRANSFORMING MESSAGE OF YESHUA AND HIS BLOOD! ALL ARE WELCOME AND WE WILL BE TAKING A LOVE OFFERING FOR HIM. ALSO, ON SATURDAY EVENING WE WILL BE HAVING HAVDALAH/ROSH CHODESH CELEBRATION AT THE WESTENDORF’S FARM. WE WILL MEET AT 5:30PM. TOM AND MARY WILL PROVIDE  A LARGE TACO SALAD AND DINNER ROLLS, SO BRING SALADS/FRIED CHICKEN/OTHER MAIN DISHES/ VEGGIES/FRUIT/CHIPS OR DESSERT. TED WILL BE JOINING US THAT EVENING FOR WORSHIP SO BRING FLAGS AND FOLDING CHAIRS, AS WEATHER PERMITTING WE WILL BE MEETING OUTDOORS UNDER THE STARS! PLEASE BRING A MASK OR FACE COVERING IN CASE WE ARE NOT ABLE TO MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING! THE WESTENDORF FARM IS LOCATED AT: 1029 S. BONNIE LANE, WATKINS, 80137.

Speaking of masks and face coverings … the Jefferson County office of Public Health has put out an order effective July 14th-July 22nd. I will write it out verbatim for you: “HEREBY FINDING IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THE COVID-19 VIRUS BE SLOWED TO PROTECT THE ABILITY OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO HANDLE THE INFLUX OF NEW PATIENTS AND SAFEGUARD PUBLIC HEALTH … ALL INDIVIDUALS, WHEN IN JEFFERSON COUNTY, ARE ORDERED TO WEAR A FACE COVERING WHENEVER THEY ARE OUTSIDE A PRIVATE RESIDENCE AND UNABLE TO MAINTAIN, OR WHEN NOT MAINTAINING, SOCIAL DISTANCE OF AT LEAST 6 FEET FROM ANY NON-HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS … TO THE EXTENT REASONABLY POSSIBLE, INDIVIDUALS MUST AT ALL TIMES MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING OF AT LEAST 6 FEET WHEN THEY ARE OUTSIDE A PRIVATE RESIDENCE.” So, in obedience to this directive and in line with the policy that Gateway On Mount Zion Church has prescribed, we are asking you all to wear a mask or face covering when you arrive at the building. Upon entering the sanctuary, we ask that you distance yourself from others by at least 6 feet except those in your family party. You are not required to keep the mask on while seated or during the service providing you are maintaining proper distance. At the conclusion of the service, we ask that you put face coverings back on as you leave the sanctuary. Please avoid hugging unless you wear your mask, use hand sanitizer, and be considerate of one another! As I have said before, we are in “uncharted waters” as far as how to implement these restrictions and we depend on you to help us to comply! Our sanctuary is large enough to effectively meet and still maintain distancing, and we even have seating downstairs where you can watch by live feed if you don’t feel comfortable in the main group. We consider meeting together to be vital and essential and we will keep doing this because it is a Biblical mandate and it honors God and we are encouraged when we do it! Please let me or the leadership know if you have any questions. WE look forward to seeing you!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat July 11, 2020

Shabbat Shalom!
As summer kicks in and we begin to emerge from an enforced quarantine, it is time to enjoy the outdoors and fire up the grills! The other day Walter and I went on a hike by Evergreen and huffed and puffed our way (mostly me!) up the mountain and it felt so good. It was also a great time of worship and praise and talking with the Father! Thank you all for praying for Millie and the team that were on “assignment” at Mount Rushmore. They had significant times of prayer in specific places related to the history of this nation, and had some great divine encounters along the way.

This Shabbat, July 11th, One of our Or Chaim shamashim (deacons), Kent Brown will be bringing the message. Kent is an outstanding teacher and makes the Word come alive! The presence of God has been very powerful in our midst, and I want to encourage you to come on out and join us! Next Shabbat, July 18th we will welcome Messianic worship artist Ted Pearce to our Congregation! That evening we will have a combined Havdalah/New Moon celebration at Tom and Mary Westendorf’s farm in Watkins. It has been a long time since we have had one and it is time! All are welcome and bring the family, the address/directions and what kind of food to bring will be sent out soon.

As the “whirlwind” of societal chaos and shouted hatred continues in our nation unabated, we should take comfort in Paul’s words “But in all these things we are more than conquerers through HIM who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life … nor any other created thing will be able to separate  us from the love of God that is in Messiah Yeshua our Lord!” An exhortation to all of us during this present insanity is to keep our focus on our King, keep our ears in tune to His Kingdom plans and purposes and love one another with Yeshua’s love!
Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat 6/27/2020

Shabbat Shalom Mishpacha!

At the beginning of this year, I believe I had an impression from The Lord to “Linger a little longer.” Who would have thought six months later that the USA would look so much different than it did a while ago! This has caused me to linger a little longer in His Presence to try to get a handle on things and learn how to respond to His kingdom purposes instead of reacting to the chaos all around us. I am filled with His Shalom and sense that this a time of re-awakening, re-focusing and a time of re-filling as we are in a season of incredible disruption, but at the same time renewing our trust in the Rock who cannot be shaken! As the old Carpenters' song of 1970 reminds us, “It’s Only Just Begun.”

Last Shabbat we had a wonderful time in His presence as the glory of God fell in our midst, and I wasn’t even able to share my message! I will gladly allow myself to be ‘pre-empted’ by Holy Spirit anytime! This week, God willing, I will share a message connecting the three major ‘Feasts of The Lord’ with the Tabernacle in the wilderness. Everything God does has purpose, not just for the people of Israel in that day, but for us today. When we understand this and see that these times are not random but for all of us today, greater ‘wells’ of blessing will be opened to us! WE WILL ALSO BE HONORED TO WELCOME MESSIANIC JEWISH RECORDING ARTIST CARLOS PERDOMO! HE WILL BE LEADING OUR WORSHIP AND YOU WILL SENSE AN INCREDIBLE ANOINTING ON THIS MAN, AS HE HAS ACCOMPANIED PAUL WILBUR AND HAS TRAVELLED EXTENSIVELY AROUND THE WORLD. All are welcome and we will take a love offering for Carlos! Again, we will not have an Oneg following the service but all are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and eat outside at the tables.

Remember that we are still wanting to be wise in our social interactions and ask that if you are sick or have a fever, please stay home. There are plenty of seats in the sanctuary, as well as downstairs, so we can spread out and be comfortable. Face coverings are not required, but recommended and if you don’t have one, we can give you one. The main thing is we just want to come together and worship the God of the universe and desire His Presence more than anything else!

Shabbat 6/20/2020 Happy Father’s Day Weekend

Shabbat Shalom!
Millie and I were able to get away for a few days this week up at Estes Park! We have had a wonderful time with dear friends, laughing and catching up and enjoying the mountains and the wildlife! No news, no interruptions, no internet, sometimes we all need to pull away and enjoy the beauty of His creation.

This Shabbat, 6/20, I will be sharing a message about the times and seasons of The Lord, and connecting them with the Tabernacle in the wilderness. There is nothing random or coincidental about these special times; when they are, what they mean and how we celebrate them. God’s times always have special meaning and include specific things He wants to impart to His children. Of course, we are not having our potluck Onegs yet because of Covid restrictions.

This Shabbat, Jack and Lynette Serr, pastors of Castlewood Canyon Church in Franktown will be leading us in worship. They are wonderful friends of Or Chaim and have a deep love of God and love to worship Him! This is going to be a wonderful Shabbat so come on out and join us. Please remember that we are still under restrictions on gathering together. Again, if you are sick or have a fever please stay home and join us on YouTube. Masks or face coverings are recommended but not required. Distancing and limiting physical contact is still required. Yes, these are crazy times but we will get through it!

Testimonial

Heritage House Ministries conducted a Healing and Deliverance Congregational Seminar for Rabbi Shmuel Wolkenfeld.

(his comments):

"The messages were clear and helpful, and practical, and many people got much help. The idea of five sessions seemed daunting at first, but in fact the sessions were vital and powerful, with increasing participation.  The units on 'forgiveness', 'sins of the fathers and resulting curses', 'ungodly beliefs', 'spirit & soul hurts', 'and demonic oppression worked together to clear up longstanding problems in hearts and lives."

Shabbat June 13, 2020

SHABBAT SHALOM, MISHPACHA!
I have been struck by two words that The Lord speaks in Revelation 18, “COME OUT …!” He goes on to explain what we are to come out from. As I have said several times in the last few months, there is an urgency in my spirit and my whole being that the time for being alert and paying attention to the signs of the times, and the Word of God is now! The TRUE BRIDE is being awakened and there is a call to “wash our robes” and make haste out of a world system that is growing darker and uglier every day. I will be bringing a message this Shabbat entitled “Dueling Brides”, and we will explore how we are to be a consecrated Bride to the One who loves us with an undying love! It has not been an easy message to do, as I sense we are at an inflection point for the Ecclesia (church), and we don’t really have an option (well, we do, but it would be tragic) to go back to the “status quo” or the “new normal”.

We are still not at a place where we can re-start our potluck Oneg yet. However, weather permitting, it is fine to bring a picnic lunch and sit outside at the tables and have lunch with each other. Again, please remember to follow the guidelines that have been laid out:
-If you are ill or have a fever PLEASE STAY HOME AND WATCH OUR LIVE-STREAM
-If you are at high risk due to age or pre-existing conditions, use wisdom if you are to come and please wear a mask
-Face masks/coverings for others are recommended but not required
-Please use upstairs restroom and avoid going downstairs
-Please sit at a safe distance from others, unless you are a family unit
-Avoid physical contact as much as possible
-Please be considerate and loving to one another!

As I have mentioned, I trust you to monitor your own behavior and to honor each other. We are having the building thoroughly cleaned after our services, as the Sunday church is also doing the same. Honestly, this has been a challenging time for all of us, first the pandemic and economic shutdown that has impacted all and now, just as we were beginning to reopen, we have disorder and chaos in the streets that has further divided our nation. We need to come together as the people of God, to “humble ourselves and pray and seek His face” and cry out for Heaven’s solutions at this hour!
We hope to see you on Shabbat!
Blessings and Shabbat Shalom,

Shabbat June 6, 2020

Shabbat Sholom!

Stop and take a breath, quiet your soul and think back over the last several months. Who would have even contemplated a virus that completely shut down the global economies, all travel in and out of cities and nations and even out of our own home. Who would have imagined all public gatherings curtailed and even churches closed for regular services. On top of this, as we slowly began to return to some sense of “normalcy” we all witnessed a horrific murder of a man that has led to unprecedented anger and violence in our nation’s cities! Our hearts are saddened and many people have too many questions and no answers. BUT GOD …! These last months have compelled me and many others to look up and cry out to the King of Kings and ask for His love, wisdom and strength as we pursue our Kingdom mandate to rule and reign in a world system that hates God and His children! I have been looking at the words of Yeshua in Matthew 24 as He describes the end times and what will and must take place. In verse 21, He says “For then there will be great trouble, such as has not happened since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.”  Again, I want to encourage all of us to quiet our souls in the midst of all this craziness and meditate on all the promises of the Holy One “AND TO KNOW THE LOVE OF MESSIAH WHICH SURPASSES KNOWLEDGE, SO YOU MAY BE FILLED UP WITH ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD!”

This Shabbat, June 6th, “D-Day” as it has been known for the last 76 years, Father has given me an important message on how to experience rest in the midst of chaos. As we have been removing stones over ancient wells, this week we will look at “a Place of rest” as we looked at “a Day of rest” a few weeks ago. The Father, from the beginning has always given us a strategy of how to experience Shalom and His presence as we fulfill His purposes, and we vividly see it represented by two trees in a garden. This is an important and timely message for the Body!

AGAIN, WE WANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO BE RESPECTFUL TO ONE ANOTHER DURING THESE EXTRAORDINARY TIMES: IF ILL OR IF YOU HAVE A FEVER, PLEASE STAY HOME; MAINTAIN DISTANCING AND SIT ONLY IN CHAIRS THAT ARE NOT RED; AVOID HUGS (THIS HAS BEEN DIFFICULT FOR ME!); FACE COVERINGS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES BUT NOT MANDATORY AVOID GATHERING AT ENTRANCE OR IN GROUPS.

Honestly, I don’t feel “called” to police or control our behaviors and we need everybody to help us in this. Please extend love and grace to each other and consider what is the highest and best for the other person BY LOVING YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF!

My prayer over you is that you would walk in HIS perfect peace in these days and that we will experience the passion of HIS heart for us during these troubled times.

THERE WILL BE NO ONEG BUT FEEL FREE TO BRING YOUR LUNCH AND ENJOY FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER AT THE TABLES OUTDOORS WEATHER PERMITTING

Tammy Vacura will be joining us for worship this week Here are the YouTube and Zoom/Facebook links:

Shavuot 2020 Bill Bullock

CHAG SHAVUOT SAMEACH!
That may seem like a mouthful, but it is the traditional blessing to say to one another at Shavuot (Pentecost)! We have entered into the Biblical season where we celebrate the giving of the 10 Commandments at Mt. Sinai and the outpouring of the Ruach HaKodesh in Jerusalem. A wonderful Mo’ed (appointed time) where God says “Come away with me, I want to reveal more of Me to you so you can represent me more accurately to the rest of creation.” Of course that is my paraphrase, but I believe it reflects His desire that we would walk in His ways which leads to life (walking out Torah), and to be empowered by His Spirit so we can represent Him and His kingdom (Outpouring of His Spirit)! What a season this has been since Passover (even before), where we have cried out for His direction, healing and His presence in the midst of extraordinary circumstances. I strongly sense that this new place we are is a place of great release, advancement of His kingdom and an urgency to share the Good News to a dark world!

This Shabbat, we will be celebrating the special feast with The Rabbi’s Son Bill Bullock! He is a wonderful friend of Or Chaim and always brings a passionate call to intimacy and consecration that provokes us but also encourages our hearts that are crying out for more of His presence! We would encourage you to invite your friends to hear Bill and he will also be sharing an afternoon session. After the morning service, we ask that you either bring a picnic type lunch as there are plenty of tables outside, or there are a few restaurants close by in Genesee and Bergen Park/Evergreen that you can get a quick bite and make it back for the afternoon session. WE WILL NOT HAVE AN ONEG IN THE FELLOWSHIP ROOM! Also, the sanctuary is set up in a way that we can safely adhere to “social distancing” but it will require all of us to be responsible to make it work! You will notice that every other row of seats has red tape on the back, PLEASE DO NOT SIT IN THESE SEATS. Please avoid congregating in groups, and around the entrance to the building and avoid hugging (I know it is difficult!). Use only the upstairs restroom and wash your hands and use sanitizer that is provided! Face masks are recommended but not required. Believe me, I am not a big “rules” guy, BUT I DO ASK THAT WE BE MINDFUL AND CONSIDERATE OF ONE ANOTHER AT THIS TIME WHEN WE MAY HAVE DIFFERENT UNDERSTANDINGS AND PREFERENCES. Let us show love and deference to one another without judgment or criticism, because WE WILL EXEMPLFY A CULTURE OF HONOR WHEN WE DO IT!

We want to encourage you to sign up on our Or Chaim Youtube link! If we have 100 subscribers we can have our own designated channel! One positive outcome of the Covid 19 crisis has been that we have been able to get the message of the Kingdom and One New Man that we proclaim at Or Chaim farther than the four walls of our sanctuary on the mountain! We look forward to seeing you this Shabbat!
Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Bill Bullock “The Rabbi’sSon”

Bill Bullock “The Rabbi’sSon”

Shabbat 5/23/2020

Shabbat Shalom!
I love Shabbat! I mean I really love Shabbat! Not just because it is commanded to observe, or because it is expected of me as a Congregational leader in a Messianic Jewish congregation, but because I want to enjoy and love what God loves! It is a Day and an attitude of rest where God says He will bless me if I choose to observe and remember! This week I sense from Father that we are to celebrate and enjoy Shabbat together and He has given me a message that will hopefully encourage and bring greater revelation and understanding of this special day. It doesn’t matter what you are going through or what the last three months of uncertainty and pain has brought, we have many reasons to rest, celebrate and thank our Father and worship our King Yeshua!

We are in the Biblical season of Counting the Omer, where we are anticipating and looking forward to a fruitful harvest and a fresh outpouring of His grace and goodness because our God has set cycles of life into His calendar in order to BLESS. Do we have an expectation of good things from the Father in due time, or are we going through the motions, wishing things will change but living like a victim in the mean time? Everything in my being is telling me that the “new wineskin” season we are in now will be a time of increased kingdom activity, release of specific callings and gifts and re-alignment of all of our priorities to be in “sync” with His purposes on earth. Over the last 2-3 months, many of us have been crying out to God for more of Him and at the same time, getting rid of the hindrances that keep us from being who He has called us to be! We are desperate for the “new wine” of His Spirit to fill us and launch us to be HIS KINGDOM AMBASSADORS FROM THE FRONT RANGE INTO WHATEVER AND WHEREVER HE CALLS US!

Remember, next Shabbat, May 30th, The Rabbi’s Son Bill Bullock will be with us all day as we celebrate Shavuot (Pentecost)! He is a good friend of Or Chaim and always brings an inspiring, passionate and loving message right from the Father’s heart to us! He will be with us in the morning service and will also be sharing after a lunch break in the afternoon. We are looking at the possibility of everyone bringing a picnic lunch and, weather permitting, meet outside at the picnic tables. Invite your friends as this will be a special time of impartation, and also the Aronsteins will be blessing us with an anointed telling of the book of Ruth in dance! Bill will be sharing at Castlewood Canyon Church in Franktown on Sunday, May 31st at 10am.
Remember, we want to keep in mind the guidelines we have laid out over the last weeks for meeting together. We so look forward to seeing you!
Blessings and Shabbat Shalom,

Shabbat 5/16/2020

Shabbat Shalom!

We have entered into a “strange” season. After 8 weeks of shut down and quarantine we are beginning to start up again. We are leaving our homes more often, some businesses are beginning to open and we can now find toilet paper more prevalent! I am a lifelong observer of trends in society, and in my many years on earth I have seen that fear is a powerful motivator and inhibiter. When this virus hit us, no one knew what it was, how deadly it was, and how we are to stop it. There was real fear. We shut everything down until we were able to get our heads around things and slow its spread. Now as it seems to be lessening in its severity and is maybe less deadly than originally thought, fear is inhibiting many from starting up again. I totally understand! There is so much conflicting and frankly contradicting information out there! As leaders in the body of Messiah, we are obligated and commanded to obey what we believe God is saying, and to walk it out BY FAITH

Last Shabbat was awesome! We had a “soft” reopening of services on the mountain. After much prayer and consulting with leadership and other church and congregation leaders we met together, maintaining distance, avoiding physical contact and basically honoring one another in how we related. After the service, cleaners came in to disinfect and do a deep cleaning, as this had been done before we met together. Here are the guidelines we are asking everyone to follow:

- if you are sick or have a fever, please do not come (services are being live-streamed on FaceBook)

- if you are in the vulnerable population over 60 yrs old and/or have pre-existing health issues, please stay home

- please bring a mask or face-covering, as they are recommended but not mandated to wear

- please enter and exit building from the front door, and avoid congregating in groups at the entrance

- avoid hugging and body contact (this can be difficult!)

- please use the upstairs restroom only and avoid going into the fellowship or classrooms downstairs

- wash hands and use hand sanitizer provided as often as possible

- finally, don’t judge others for coming or not coming to services!

This Shabbat, May 16th, as we celebrate together on the mountain, I sense that Father wants to re-open ancient wells of blessing! If we are a child of God, we are indeed grafted into the BLESSING OF ABRAHAM, and it is time to roll the stone away so as the water of the Spirit can flow freely! Shavuot is coming up in two weeks and we will be welcoming The Rabbi’s Son Bill Bullock on Shabbat, May 30th! He will be with us all day, so stay tuned for more details about his visit. Again, if you have any questions or concerns about our meetings, please contact Millie and I or those on the leadership team. We so look forward to seeing all of you “in person” as we worship, encourage and honor one another!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Stewart and Millie
